renovations

the summer is too quickly coming to an end. michael has been here for a few weeks (for the second time this summer!) and the outside of the house, thanks to him, has been scraped and primed. now mike and i are painting the house... grey! not what brian and i had pictured. we were hoping those beautiful cedar clapboards would still have some life behind all that peeling paint. but instead of pretty stained wood we will have pretty painted wood. here's what it looks like so far...

the breezeway is almost done too. cement is being poured on wednesday and then brian and i will head to ikea (or home depot) and get some flooring to put down, and PRESTO CHANG-O we have a dining room with LOTS of light! 

so many projects we have in mind for this cute house. next, either the kitchen or the bathroom. then maybe a wall coming down... and THEN, in the far off future a master bedroom in the attic! the house will look GREAT with a second floor! then we'll have two bedrooms on the first floor - and maybe then (in the FAR off future) we will have another baby. in the mean time we are completely content with our little family.

but now it's time to run to target and get some diapers, formula, and baby food.
