life in dc

i have been in dc for just about a week now, olive and brian for a little over two weeks, and we are slowly settling into a little bit of routine (of sorts).

brian started work on wednesday, so has been up and out early, while olive and i have time to do some adventuring and catching up (i've missed them both this past year as i have been in grad school). i've also managed to squeeze in three interviews, and schedule some upcoming freelance work (yay!) - all while i wait for my student teaching to begin later in the year.

i've been trying to get olive ready for school as well. brian and i bought a shelf for the kitchen,  setting up our home in a way that allows her to be more independent. i have doing various works with her as well. olive's new teacher will be coming for a home visit some time next week, which we are very much looking forward to. a new school and new friends await her.
