another hat, another weekend

i just finished my second attempt on the same hat. the first i did in this great retro-green, but didn't end up coming out "slouchy" so i gave it to olive (who makes everything look cuter). then i tried again with this super soft grey wool. but it still didn't fit the way i thought it would - based on the picture. so, olive gets another hat and i have decided to try a new pattern in hopes to get a winter hat (and i'm doing fingerless gloves). maybe i can finish something new this weekend!?!

i'm still waiting for yarn i ordered online to arrive so i can start a sweater for olive. i love this site pickles, which is where i found the pattern for the sweater i'm going to make (and the next hat and fingerless gloves). i've also joined ravelry, another great site for patterns. it's a little like facebook, where you can make a "page" and post patterns you've found or made up, pictures of your projects, etc.
