1. Dangerously Delicious Pies - http://www.dangerouspiesdc.com/ - we have had some delicious pieces of pie from here. There is one on H Street, NE.
2. Baked & Wired - http://bakedandwired.com/ - voted the best cupcakes in DC, this place is AMAZING! (loved it so much I had to take pictures!)
3. The Kennedy Center - http://www.kennedy-center.org/programs/millennium/schedule.html - there are several stages at The Kennedy Center. One has kids shows every evening at 6pm. All these shows are FREE and pretty spectacular! We can also access the performances on the website a day or two after, if we missed one we really wanted to make it to. The building is beautiful!
4. Shake Shack - http://www.shakeshack.com/ - this has become our family date night spot. They have great fries, burgers and best of all, frozen custard!
5. Eastern Market - http://www.easternmarket-dc.org/ - there are both indoor and outdoor markets to go to for food, shopping or just a walk about. We always find great things here and even spent Halloween here.
6. Smithsonian Museums - http://www.si.edu/ - we frequent museums in the city. We take advantage of living a block from the zoo and ride down to the Mall and go to the Air & Space, Natural History and Art Gallery on weekends.
